Charge Hybrids Off-Grid,Micro Wind Turbines

Charging hybrids should be advertised with as much emphasis as the vehicles themselves. Increased sales of these vehicles could possibly be seen also, not to mention the education value. The articles I`ve been reading lately about the technology for hybrids is a start. The constant content of the media from the auto-makers makes it sound like were accomplishing milestones.A bit more emphasis on some of the facts would be nice.If we are plugging in our cars into the grid,we are not burning gasoline. Were burning something else, somewhere else. The new Tesla automobile sounds like we are really getting somewhere. That car shows some pretty good stats with a top speed of 125 m.p.h.,excellent pick up,and a 220 mile range. The hydrogen fuel cells for power are getting better also, regardless,we are left with a substancial amount of C02 emissions.
Getting the media to push solar and wind charging systems with all of this would be helpful.People on the whole hear the word electricity and start looking for the recepticle in the wall, instead of the inverter or alternative energy generator.
There are affordable solar and wind products and systems that will charge these batteries. The Tesla automobile takes 8 hrs. to completely charge on the grid.Alternative energy charging stations in parking lots would be helpful, close to the handicapped zone would be a good promotion I think.Visit http://www.blueskysolarwind.com  and you will find micro wind turbine kits starting at $375.  The technology for battery operated cars and motorcycles is here, the mind-set for charging them needs alittle more attention.

Photovoltaic Solar Energy: the Pros and Cons
posted in Home Solar Power, Solar Panels |
Pros
The most obvious advantage to solar energy is no operational carbon emissions. Other advantages include reduced dependence or even complete independence from fluctuating energy markets and efficient power generation in areas that do not have access to a power grid. In areas that do not have access to the power grid, it is frequently cheaper to buy a photovoltaic system than it is to pay to extend the grid, or to buy and run a diesel generator.

While energy prices have gone down recently with the global recession, it is unlikely that they will stay down. When the economy improves oil prices will likely go back up, and energy prices in general will probably follow. Once your solar panels are set up, the vast majority of your costs have already been paid, and rising electricity prices will be something that happens to other people.

In certain areas of the USA, there are programs that will let you lease solar Grid-tied Systems. This eliminates the high start-up cost problem if you are lucky enough to live in one of those areas.

Cons
There are also disadvantages to solar photovoltaic power. Solar energy requires sunlight. Photovoltaics do not produce power at night, and the amount of power they produce on cloudy days is much reduced from what they produce in sunlight. They also produce more electricity during the summer than in the winter. This is an advantage if your air-conditioning bills are higher than your heating bills, but in colder climates this is a disadvantage to solar power. In climates with many cloudy days, power output is reduced from its full potential, which means that your initial investment takes longer to pay back than you might expect from tests in Spain or California.

Purchasing and installing a solar system involves a substantial outlay of capital. Prices for solar photovoltaic sytems are falling, but the cost is still prohibitive for many people.

Energy Efficient Practices and Products, available at blueskysolarwind.com

There’s no shortage of gadgets designed to help you use less energy. Yet some of the most effective energy-efficient products lining store shelves are also the simplest.

The following low-tech items will save energy and money with minimal effort and investment.

•Power strips can help put an end to vampire power. There’s a wide range of choices from simple to sophisticated, but the general concept is the same. If you plug your electronic devices into one and turn it off when you’re not using, you’ll reduce standby power consumption and save more than $100 a year according to the Natural Resources Defense Council. Some, such as the Smart Strip, have the ability to know when your computer powers down and can then cut power to the peripherals. You can find strips with motion sensors or even a remote control. The Kill A Watt identifies the biggest energy drainers in your home, but try borrowing one from a friend or neighbor since you only need to use it once.

•Indoor drying racks allow you to air dry your clothing in the winter and in places where hanging clothes to dry outdoors is difficult or even illegal. Abandoning the dryer in the summer can save you $43.60, so imagine how much you’ll save if you air-dry your clothing all year round (although even just bypassing the dryer sometimes will save energy and money). While you’re at it, wash your clothes in cold water for additional savings.

•Installing efficient showerheads and faucets will save water and the energy it takes to heat it. The result: You’ll spend less on water and electric bills.

•Compact fluorescent light bulbs use about 75% less energy than incandescent bulbs and last longer so you’ll buy fewer bulbs. There’s no need to sacrifice quality since some CFLs outperform traditional bulbs. You’ll save at least $30 in electricity costs over a bulb’s lifetime. •If you use a programmable thermostat properly you can save as much as 15% a year on your heating bill. In the winter, keep your thermostat at 68 to 70 degrees when you’re at home or awake (the summer guideline for those with central A/C is 78 degrees). Whether you choose to upgrade your thermostat or not, turn it back (or raise it in the summer) when you’re away or asleep.

•Wrapping your water heater in a “blanket” is an easy way to save about $15 a year. Lower your water heater thermostat to 120 degrees for more painless savings.

•Sealing large air leaks in your home can save you a bundle. Try installing door sweeps to stop air from escaping from underneath your doors.

The other efficient products on the market today are electric or gas powered tankless water heaters or programmable thermostats.

Of course the greatest way to save energy and money in the long run is the investment of wind turbines and solar panels for your home. There are many variations or these wind turbines for your home, but also for your boat, remote areas, camp sites, etc.

Warren Buffet`s and Charles Munger`s Veiw On The Future.Economics and Alternative Energy

This information I obtained from the online publication of The Wall Street Journal about Warren Buffet`s and Charles Mungers view on the future.
Buffet talked about how the dismal out-look he had on the newspaper business, obviously the other avenues to gain information he spoke about was the computer. That paper and ink will now go into my printer,it seems.
Buffet then spoke about the rise in the expense of insurance, the slow rise in the housing market, and spoke about the mistakes made in the Treasuries.I`m personally not very educated in any of this except for the housing market.I build houses and there isn`t much of a market.
Buffet and Munger than began talking about math and theories, and there distain on higher-order mathematics in finance. They said this is all taught in the business schools because they have to teach something. I had to go online to onlineconversion.com to find that in wind speed, 2 m/s = about 4 m.p.h.
At the end of the conversation Charles Munger sees ” a final brakthrough that solves the main technical problem of man”By harnessing the power of the sun, electrical power will become more available around the world. That will help humans turn sea water into fresh water and eliminate environmental problems, Mr. Munger explained. “If you have enough energy you can solve a lot of other problems.”
I`m finding that this economic recession is bringing or minds back to the reality of simplicity. Cliff Ingram,blueskysolarwind.com

Hybrid vs. Battery Power vs. Hygrogen Powered Automobiles

The lastest tests on automobiles conducted for cleanest “green automobiles” was very interesting.Hybrids, that work on the grid and gas power went up against battery only powered cars that work totally on the grid. Both these types of cars were then tested against a hydrogen car to see which was the cleanest or greenest. At the end of the testing, hydrogen seemed to be the winner.I must be missing something here.blueskysolarwind.com sells wind turbines, solar panels, and various other alternative energy products.
Lets plug that battery car into a inverter that is powered by the wind. The wind power is changed into electricity at the inverter that charges the battery in the car.Plugging a car into the grid saves gas, plugging into an outlet burns coal.Wheres the green part in all of this.Wind is green.Solar is green.Period.

Micro Wind Turbines For The Fishing Community

Recently I`ve come across a new micro wind turbine kit that is excellent for the fishing community and industry. The kit includes the recycled plastic wind turbines, inverter, stainless steel tubular framing, and all the wiring. This system will charge deep cycle car batteries or give instant electricity when the wind is blowing, even in light winds.Batteries linked together will increase your power supply. The wind turbines for power have an advantage over solar power for the instant access to electricity. The system is light weight and can be set up on the boat or on your dock.Any remote area where a elec. cable can`t reach or is far from civilization is perfect for this micro wind turbine systems. Many of these kits can be found at blueskysolarwind.com
These kits can be “added” on to for more power when needed or minimized for other areas where less is needed.Of course the wind is free and the power is also. The emergency back-up and use of these systems is incredible.Boat generators are constintly in repair and always when you most need them. These micro wind turbines have survived 2 out of 8 160 m.p.h. typhoons and 10 consecutive weeks in Canada`s winter months with no problems.

So visit blueskysolarwind.com and check out all the alternative energy products so the next time you might be cursing at the wind for one reason or another, you`ll at least know its helping you out at the turbines.
